Facebook Update
Facebook is announcing a new approach that allows users to have a role in determining the policies that govern the site. For more information and links to the groups containing our new draft policies, check out the Facebook Blog.
I could live with section 3.6 which read "You will not post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or that contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence." after all I have other places to post my hate porn. But when you put it together with section 8.3, that reads "You will not place a Share Link button on any page containing content that would violate this Statement if posted on Facebook.", the policy become unreasonable.
This means I can't post a link to a site contains links to hate porn. But that also means that you can't even post a link to a page that contains a link to a page that contains hate and/or porn. In fact you can't share a link to any page on the Internet which somehow links to porn or hate or nudity or whatever Facebook doesn't like. This means that almost any link you post is a violation of Facebook policy!
This will lead to a schism on the Internet. Those site which can be linked to from Facebook one one side and those that can't on the other. The former group will be completely cut off form the latter without even a single link connecting them.
I for one will not stand for this!
